The revamp of ParentInformer.org I completed in December was part of a testing process.
I recruited members of organizations putting on events and workshops, as well as many family members and parents as the early adopters for this experiment.
The trial period was 3 weeks. I couldn't tell anyone of the experiment, for that would make the experiment results invalid.
The results clearly indicate there isn't a demand out there for this kind of thing. Organizations weren't interested in posting events, and parents weren't interested in discussion forums on this platform.
In combination with these results and analytics from the website over the past two years, I've decided to shut the site down. It takes up a good deal of my time and some money as well, and it's time to refocus on other projects I've got going on where I can add more value.
